Tourist Attractions in Curacao

Curaçao is combined with Bonaire, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, and Saba. It is in the Kingdom of Netherlands, and it is a part of Netherlands Antilles. It is located on the north shore of Venezuela about 56 kms. There are three major Dutch islands in the Caribbean such as Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Curacao is considered as “C”, and it is the most famous of the Netherlands Antilles.

Curacao is very famous for its unique culture; duty-free shopping, water sports, warm people and lively casinos, and also it attracts all the visitors from all over the world.

Hato Caves

According to F. D. Rooseveltweg Hato Caves are supernatural. It is possible to go for a trip to the world of Stalactites and stalagmites, where you can see the highest mineral porch of the island. Once upon a time there were coral reefs. More than thousand years limestone constructions were formed, some were deposited under the sea. You can enter a Cathedral after crossing a lake, an underground cave. La Ventana is called as The Window, the biggest hallway of the caves. You can see a display of ancient Indian petroglyph drawing. The caves are open to public and the timing is 10am to 4pm, and the admission fee is just $7 for adults and $5 for children.

Curacao Attractions

Most cruise-ship passengers see only Willemstad or shops but you may want to get out into the countryside, and discover the gigantic cacti and rolling hills topped by plantation houses built more than 300 years ago.

Statue of Pedro Luis Brion

It overlooks the square recognized as Brionplein. It is placed on the end of the pontoon bridge right at the Otrabanda. Brion born in Curacao in the year 1782, and he was the much-loved son of the island and prominent war hero. He was the admiral of the navy and participated in many independence struggles of Venezuela and Colombia under the leadership of Simon Boliver.

Curaçao Underwater Marine Park

This park is financially aided by the World Wildlife Fund and established in the year 1972. Extended from the Breezes Curacao Resort and it ends in the east point of the island. The total area is about 13 miles of safe and sound coral reefs. There is a facility of a glass-bottom boat to discover snorkeling and scuba diving in the park.

Curaçao Seaquarium

You can see more than 400 varieties of fishes; anemones, crabs and coral which are put on view in natural atmosphere. You can reach this Seaquarium by few minutes walk from the Breezes Curacao Resort. It is open to public, and you can visit this Seaquarium daily from 8:30am to 5:30pm. The admission is affordable such as $15 for adults and $7.50 for children for the age group 5 to 12.

The main attractions of this aquarium are dolphin and sea lions. It is possible to film, photograph and feed sharks by well-experienced swimmers, divers and snorkelers. It is very safe because you are separated from the sharks by a huge window with feeding holes. The Seaquarium is the location of Curaçao’s palm-shaded, white-sand beach. There is also a 3-D slide presentation in the mini theater.
