Tourist Spots in Olympic National Park
Posted by DonThe Olympic cape is positioned in Washington State, at northwest tilt of the inferior 48 states and west of Seattle. The shape is square and spread over 100 miles all the sides. Olympic Park is located on the middle of the cape and Pacific seashore, and the area is nearly about 50 mile.
National forest surrounded the maximum area of this Park. It is possible to experience enormous range of natural beauty including snow covered mountain summits, immeasurable track of old-growth forest, rocky and well –preserved coasts and a pleasant rain forest. It is a suitable place for camping, sea kayaking, hiking, backpacking and other sight seeing.
Olympic Park – Easy to reach
It is not as much as difficult to reach the Olympic National Park & Olympic Peninsula. It is just nearby Seattle, Washington, and the distance is just an hour journey. The fastest and best way is through ferries from Bremerton from Seattle, otherwise you can travel the ride from north side of Seattle town of Edmonds all the way to Kingston, and the journey is very picturesque. The journey lasts for an hour.
It is also possible to travel through the south most tilt of Puget Sound positioned at Tacoma. You can continue the journey on the north side on the cape. Traveling through this route will take some extra miles and time.
The residents of the Olympic cape are very meager. The majority of the inhabitants live in northern and eastern coast villages. There are two major villages: Port Angeles and Port Townsend, famous villages of north coast. You can also see many small and petty fishing villages beside the north side beach. Fork is the only large town, and the location is west side of the cape. You can get range of accommodations in Port Angeles and Port Townsend.
This is a wonderland for hikers and backpackers
At the very northwestern tip of the peninsula, you can see the Makah Indian Reservation, which occupies more than a mile square area. Even now it is possible to see some of the last Native Americans who continue to hunt whales with wooden harpoons from open canoes.
You can see an interesting museum that illustrates the history and culture of Makah Indians in Makah cultural center. Olympic National Park is really a gift for backpackers and hikers, with its 600 miles of trails. Most of the land is tremendously uneven and wild. It is possible to climb the mountains by the beginners also, because all the mountains are not as much as height.
Major roads into the park
You can see the total area of the park and peninsula by traveling through Highway 101. It is also possible to view only fewer roads across the park. You can see the fantastic vision of Mount Olympus along with the internal park from Hurricane Ridge. You can see many rest rooms, best hiking trails and visitor center there.
